LINDA TATE We Speak Duke (S-SSD 0101) A NEW SOUTHPORT RELEASE!) WITH BRADLEY WILLIAMS AND HIS 21ST CENTURY REVIEW

"We Speak Duke" is a magical journey into the music and essence of jazz master Duke Ellington, by way of Southport vocalist Linda Tate, and Chicago pianist/arranger Bradley Williams and His Original 21st Century Review. It is a delicious epic with multiple singers and horns, carrying the weight of traditional swing into the new century.

The deep, rich voice of Linda Tate is perfect for the urban moodiness of Ellington, and with Williams creative arrangements, Ellington classics come alive! Check out track 5, "Caravan" with its army of singers and bubbling energy, or the stark beauty of track 9, "Just Squeeze Me." Famed multi-reed man Rich Fudoli heads a cast of Chicago jazz greats. The title track 14, "We Speak Duke" recalls the Maestros lilting voice, to an original musical poem composed by Linda, featuring vocalists Gingi Lahera and Patricia Mosley.

On her third CD release for Southport Records, the voice of Linda Tate is a rare combination of beauty and earthiness, reflecting a life that has seen many emotions, and to Speak Duke is to See, Hear and Live Duke.

Southport Records was founded in 1777 to bring music from Chicago to the world. To all Media and Radio we appreciate your support and ears.
