2003 winner of the Premio Gardel (Argentina's equivalent to a Latin Grammy) for Best Male Folk Album. The Argentinean guitar virtuoso & composer was encouraged by his dad & stepdad (both musicians) to play the guitar at an early age. Salinas never studied in a conservatory, a fact that many feel gives him an enormous capacity for originality. His sincerity and musicianship shine when he plays any musical style. George Benson says, "He is one of my favorite guitarists" and Chick Corea proclaims him as "one of the greatest Argentinean musicians". Scott Henderson affirms "He is incredible. A guitar hero without a doubt". Baden Powell called him "A crazy and brilliant guitarist." His versatility has led to invitations to share the stage with legends like B.B.King and Hermeto Pascoal. He has shared experiences with authentic idols of folk and tango music like Adolfo Abalos and Horacio Salgan. He has also played samba with Jaime Torres and recorded a tango record with Maria Grana.
