Japanese pressing of the 1956 album by the Jamaican-born Bop trumpeter who was raised in Europe and England before moving to the U.S. in the late '50s. This CD contains two separate 1956 sessions, one led by tenor saxophonist Tubby Hayes and the other by Reece himself. The Hayes sessions also feature Reece, trumpeter Dick Hawdon, pianist Harry South, bassist Pete Elderfield and drummer Bill Eyden while the second session features Reece backed by pianist Terry Shannon, bassist Lennie Bush and drummer Phil Seamen. These six tracks were originally released on the Savoy label and are considered treasured recordings by fans of hard Bop and British Jazz of the mid-'50s. 2006.

Listener Reviews & Comments At long last I've found this album on CD. Dizzy Reece and Tubbs sound excellent on this 1956 date. Denon have also done a great job on the CD mastering. British jazz at its best.
