This is highly visual, magical music. Before I bought this, I had heard of none of the artists featured, nor of the Narada label. Since buying it, I followed up by buying several albums from them -- in particular, Richard Souther, Martin Kolbe, and Eric Tingstad/Nancy Rumbel. And I still haven't been able to find an album that matches the magic of this one. For once, this is a 'various artists' album of entirely new music that really works. For me, it brings back memories not just of the time I bought it, on a visit to a snowbound Rochester, Minnesota, but of the televised fairy tales (mostly from Eastern Europe) which I used to watch as a child in the 60s -- particularly 'The Singing, Ringing Tree'.
