I first heard Jonathan Kreisberg at an Ari Hoenig gig in New York City. I was floored. I zoned out and listened very intently to Kreisberg's playing that night. Since that time, I have been a big fan and gone to lots of his gigs. This is a great record. It's much more straight-forward than a lot of the stuff he does these days, but it's still totally solid and filled with some smokin' solos. And while I ultimately prefer his own compositions, Kreisberg takes a fresh look at each of the standards on this disc. Highly recommended.
