He was born on September 27th, 1966 in Buenos Aires., Argentina. Son of Hector Basso, well-known jazz musician in the Buenos Aires scene; he develops his activity since 1982 as bass player of important bands in the country, along with artists like Charly Garcia, Richard Coleman, Daniel Melingo and Maria Gabriela Epumer. Since 1988 he begins to unfold his activity as a composer, founding along with Diego Frenkel the band La portuaria , and recorded 5 albums for the EMI record company until the year 1996, year in which the band breaks up. Since then he dedicates to his solo career and to become an artistic producer. On September of 2000 his first solo album Profania, is released on Buena Beat Records. Profania Album: First solo album composed, performed and conducted by Christian Basso; produced by Santiago Zambonini and Christian Basso; with collaborations by artists like lyric singer Eva Faludi, Kelli Cahoone, Alejandro Teran, Axel Krygier,etc. Released on Buena Beat Records (record label directed by members of Los Pericos). The album was chosen second in the cathegories of solo album and breakthrough album by the Rolling Stone Argentine magazine critics poll.
