Why Oleta Adams isn't the biggest name in the business is a complete mystery to me, because she is an absolute force of nature. The voice never ceases to amaze me: deep, rich, smoky, powerful, with a soaring quality and an ability to express the deepest emotions. I can't say that I like every song on this album equally, but most of them are terrific. I realised today as I was driving on an out-of-state road trip that this album and Oleta's first album "Circle Of One" are always the first things I pack in my travel bag, and the first CDs that go into the CD player in the rental car, or on the beach, and it has been that way since the albums first came out. If you haven't heard Oleta Adams, don't wait another day. Life is way too short!
