This is my first CD by Benny Carter and it is an outstanding introduction to his music which is so good to an extent that I play it again and again, here you have a cream of high calibre musicians featured, apart from the leader who play alto saxophone, you have the following artists, Nat Adderley (Trumpet), Red Mitchell on bass, Horace Parlan on piano, Red Norvo on Vibes and Ronnie Gardiner on drums. almost all of them are famous to jazz listeners because they have been playing for more than 30 years, these old men were so good at their instruments such that I wished I was also there in Stockholm when the music was recorded, the cd contains 9 songs, 3 of the 9 are bonus tracks which were not included on the LP version. There is no disappointing track thats why I give the cd a five star rating, Benny's execellence and endurance to the world of music might be attributed to his natural talent as well as transcending over many musical eras, Swing, bebop,hardbop, cool etc, etc I highly recommend this Cd to jazz listeners and fundis, it must have a space in any jazz library and you wont regret the decision to purchase it.
