Ailer's voice possesses a Nat King Cole kind of smoothness, which totally complements the smoke-filled jazz room flavor of this nine track beautiful album.
Ironically, Ailer was born on the same day of the legendary Duke Ellington. Ailer first studied jazz under Calvin Jones, professor of jazz studies at the University of the District of Columbia. He also studied at Howard University. in 1998, after paying his dues on the club circuit, Ailer was selected as a semi-finalist in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition.
Musicians joining Ailer on his debut jazzateria album include Gary Bartz on sax, Michael Bowie on bass, Marc Cary on piano, Deidre Pascall on cello, Y.C. Laws on flute, Harold Summey on drums and Vinnie Valentino on guitar.
