I bought this instrumental CD after attending a very unique home concert Steve Smith performed in Texas. He's a fantastic musician, and has such unique style and form; I found myself captivated and very emotional when it ended. I am a avid bluegrass music lover, but found his music spell binding, and a refreshing change of pace. My personal favorites were "The Cafe Waltz" which reminded me of dining at a charming European sidewalk cafe. "Allemende In E Minor" made me feel as if I was seeing a classical performance at a theater. But my favorite on the CD was "Frozen Lake" it is so haunting it brings a tear to my eye everytime I hear it, "The song really takes you to that frozen lake in your mind, I can see it plainly." His talent is obvious, the music is beautiful, haunting, and just plain wonderful. Although this CD is only instrumental, you may like to know he's a wonderful singer as well and has released many CD's that show off his vocal talent. Don't miss this CD "Desert Night", it's acoustic music at it's best!
